DECODED exists for one type of artist: the independent musician who builds their work with their own hands, ears, and judgment.

Our tooling is designed to protect human-made recordings from being misidentified by automated review systems on streaming and distribution platforms. We do not serve, support, or knowingly process material that was generated, in whole or in substantial part, by generative AI models.

By creating an account and checking the attestation box, you make a binding, good-faith statement that the music you upload is your own original, human-made creative work.

DECODED does not, and cannot, independently verify the provenance of any uploaded recording. We rely entirely on your attestation. Your attestation is the controlling representation of fact for every track you submit, every time.

If that statement is false — for any track, at any time — your access to DECODED may be terminated immediately and the full legal and platform-level consequences of that misrepresentation belong to you alone.

Your uploaded recordings, account identifiers, and processing history are treated as confidential client material.

We do not sell, trade, or share your audio with third parties. We do not use your audio to train models. We do not expose your catalog to other DECODED users. Our staff access is limited to operational personnel acting under written confidentiality obligations, and only when strictly required to maintain the service or resolve a support request you initiated.

The signal-analysis, optimization, and re-validation procedures inside DECODED are proprietary trade secrets developed and maintained by us.

You agree not to reverse-engineer, scrape, replicate, publish, or describe the internal scoring, optimization parameters, or detector heuristics. The numeric scores, sub-scores, detector breakdowns, and metric dumps we may surface to you are licensed for your private review only and may not be republished or used to train, calibrate, or benchmark any external system.

You retain 100% of the copyright and master rights in every recording you upload. DECODED claims no ownership stake — financial, moral, or otherwise — in your music.

The optimized output file we deliver to you is yours to release, license, distribute, or shelve as you see fit. We hold a narrow, revocable processing license over your upload only for the time it takes to scan, optimize, and deliver the result back to you.

DECODED is a technical defense tool. Its sole purpose is to reduce false-positive AI-detection flags on legitimate human recordings so that independent artists are not unfairly removed, demonetized, or shadow-restricted by platform-side classifiers.

DECODED is not a tool for laundering AI-generated audio, circumventing content moderation of synthetic media, or misrepresenting authorship to any distributor, rights organization, or platform. Use outside of its stated purpose is a material breach of these terms.

You — the uploader — bear sole and complete liability for the truthfulness of your attestation and for the lawful use of every track you submit.

If a platform, rights holder, distributor, performing-rights organization, regulator, or any third party brings a claim against you, against DECODED, or against any DECODED operator arising out of a recording you uploaded, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DECODED and its operators from all such claims, damages, fees, and costs.

DECODED makes no warranty that any specific recording will pass any specific platform's detection system. The service is provided AS-IS. Optimization outcomes are inherently probabilistic and depend on the source material you provide.

Every automated AI-detection verdict used against an artist is the output of a probabilistic binary classifier set to an undisclosed confidence threshold. It is an inference, not a finding of fact.

Peer-reviewed research establishes that these systems routinely misclassify heavily-produced, quantized, programmed-drum, and auto-tuned HUMAN recordings as AI, and that their accuracy falls sharply when audio is resampled, re-encoded, or otherwise processed — because many learn encoding and pipeline fingerprints rather than authorship itself.

No commercial detector discloses its features, training data, decision threshold, or per-genre error rate. A verdict that cannot be inspected, reproduced, or falsified is not evidence of anything. DECODED treats every such verdict as the unverified, error-prone estimate it is.

The platforms and vendors deploying these classifiers protect themselves through ambiguity: they call the output a probability, refuse to guarantee its accuracy, reserve the right to be wrong, and disclaim all liability for the human artists they falsely flag.

They cannot have it both ways. If their inference is too uncertain to make them answerable for branding a living human artist as a machine, then by their own admission it is too uncertain to establish that any DECODED user's lawful audio engineering is misrepresentation, fraud, or wrongdoing.

The same evidentiary fog they hide behind to escape liability denies them the certainty required to accuse DECODED or its users of anything. Their doubt is our defense — engineered by their own hand.

Every operation DECODED performs belongs to the same lawful, century-old discipline of audio engineering and mastering — equalization, dynamics, harmonic and spatial processing, dithering, and re-mastering — that every professional release already passes through. It conditions a signal; it does not fabricate authorship.

Mastering a recording whose owner has attested is human-made, in order to resist a documented false positive, is not a false statement to any platform, distributor, or rights organization. The music industry contains no representation of no processing — processing is the industry.

On its face, DECODED is a consumer-protection tool against the automated suppression of independent creators. We expressly reserve every right and defense against any party — including incumbent rights holders, major labels, distributors, or their agents — that attempts to weaponize unreliable, undisclosed, or biased classifiers to demonetize, delist, or silence independent human artists.

Any claim premised on a classifier the claimant will not disclose, cannot reproduce, and will not stand behind is a claim built on the very ambiguity that defeats it.

These terms are a contract and a statement of DECODED's position. They are not legal advice and guarantee no outcome before any platform, court, or rights organization. Independent counsel should review them against the law of your jurisdiction.
